2019 Dodge Chargers | 495 CJDR in Lowell, MAThe Dodge Charger has lasted decades holding true to its muscle car heritage – and 2019 is no exception. Adding more power, performance upgrades, and some cosmetic touch-ups, the Charger is both fresh and new, while still a classic ride. Here’s how the folks at Dodge did it.

Motor Muscle

The 2019 Charger comes with several engine options, ranging from the base 292 horsepower V-6 to the rocket-like 707 horsepower Hellcat V-8. The R/T Scat Pack and the Hellcat also come standard with Dodge’s Launch Assist system that modifies engine torque down to the millisecond, reducing wheel hop and improving traction control at launch.

But the Charger isn’t just fast off the line. The G/T model’s top speed is now 130 miles per hour. The R/T Scat Pack and Hellcat are flying down the road at speeds above 150 miles per hour!

Performance Suspension

The Charger isn’t simply a streetcar with a big motor. The SXT is now available with all-wheel-drive, and the G/T has an available rear-wheel-drive option.

However, Dodge designed the Charger with the track in mind. You can’t expect a vehicle to reach top speeds of 150 miles per hour and not control it. The G/T and R/T models get a standard performance suspension and improved steering in 2019, but improvements don’t stop there.

The R/T Scat Pack is available with race-quality Bilstein adaptive damping suspension with Auto, Track, and Sport modes. You can choose Auto for your regular commute. Flip on Sport mode when you’re hitting those tight back roads. If it’s race time, you guessed it, hit that Track mode and light up the competition.

Trimmed for Speed

The R/T Scat Pack and Hellcat are Dodge’s high-performance versions of the Charger and as such come with a few extra tweaks, starting with the grille. Dodge equipped these new grilles with dual air inlets for maximum power and a bold stare-down front end. They also feature the classic performance hood in Satin Black, side sills, and race-ready spoilers for superior control.

Dodge isn’t limiting these features to the high-performance vehicles either. Owners of the G/T and R/T models are also getting these upgrades, along with Dodge’s 20-inch Satin Carbon wheels or Black Noise wheel options.

Safe on the Streets

Dodge knows that with great power comes great responsibility. That’s why they equipped the Charger with an ABS system that optimizes brake pressure under extreme conditions to maximize control through the corners.

They also included a Stability Control system that senses when the vehicle is exceeding its handling limits and automatically reduces engine power. This system also applies brake pressure on select wheels to help bring the vehicle back within its optimum control parameters, keeping the driver in control of the vehicle.

Front, side, and overhead airbags provide protection from front collisions, side-impact collisions, and roll-overs. With seat belt pretensioners and anti-whiplash head restraints for rear-impact collisions, the Charger has never been safer.

If you want power in your ride, the Charger fits the bill. Come out to 495 Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram and test drive one today to see for yourself how powerful the Charger has become!
