Silver Jeep logo on a white car. - 495 Chrysler Jeep Dodge RamJeep is a large part of the everyday American’s life and one of the best things about it is that it has not lost that original design. It still bears the same design elements as the very first one and is one of the only cars that can get away with it. Jeep remains Jeep, but the new Wrangler JL has a few new tricks under the hood. Discover why every adventurous spirit needs a Wrangler JL by their side.

Updates to the Exterior

Although Jeep has stepped it up a notch and made some modern tweaks to the exterior, it still remains true to original form and function. The design elements enhance the already known features of the Wrangler, such as the keystone-shaped grille. A full-length rain gutter doubles as a roof-rack system and is the ideal companion for roughing it out in the wild.

The soft-top is still in high demand and the improved design means zippers are no longer needed to get it up and down. The design has improved somewhat and now makes use of a framework instead. Not only does this reduce the wear-and-tear, but also reduces the time needed to get the top up and down.

Choices That Extend Beyond the Paint Color

The Wrangler offers drivers the choice of two-door and four-door options. Both still allow drivers to drive with the top down. Drivers also have the option of a diesel or a mild-hybrid engine. The diesel option, however, is only available for the four-door model. Drivers also have the option of a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine or a 3.0-liter V-6. Both perform exceptionally well and the V-6 can reach up to 260 horsepower and 442 pound-feet of torque.

Windswept and Unashamedly DIY

Some of the traditional and expected elements will still remain the same, like the ability to remove the doors. Only now, the T50 fastener is included. This will make the job of removing the doors a little simpler. Soon, drivers will also have access to a model that provides half doors. The windshield is slightly bigger but doesn’t detract from what is considered the original Jeep design. This change in the windshield makes the car a little more aerodynamic.

Two Thumbs Up for the Environment

Adventurers frequently have a soft spot for nature and it makes a difference when your mode of transport shares the sentiment. Recently released figures show that the fuel economy has improved by 20 percent in comparison with the V6 model. It receives a combined rating of 24 miles per gallon for the two-door option and 22 miles per gallon for the four-door option. When consumers opt for the V-6 instead of the 2.0-liter turbocharged engine, the combined rating is 20 miles per gallon. The previous model had a combined rating of 18 miles per gallon.

When opting for a Wrangler JL, the toughest choice is not whether to get one, but rather whether to go for the two-door or four-door.
