There’s a lot to like about the new 2026 Jeep® Grand Cherokee. In addition to continuing its reign as a top off-road SUV with a premium interior, cutting-edge technology, and reassuring safety, this new SUV model adds a groundbreaking new turbo powertrain. Here at 495 Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM, we are excited to report that this new model year represents a major shift toward efficiency without sacrificing any of the power or rugged durability that has made the SUV a household name.

Introducing the Hurricane 4 Turbo Powertrain

One of the biggest changes to this year’s model is the addition of the 2.0-liter Hurricane four-cylinder turbocharged engine. This advanced powertrain cranks out an impressive 324 horsepower and 332 lb-ft of torque, outperforming the traditional V6 engine.

It creates all this power largely thanks to a variable geometry turbocharger that provides powerful boost at low engine speeds: 90 percent of peak torque is available from 2,600 to 5,600 RPM, and 100 percent of peak torque is delivered from 3,000 to 4,500 RPM. This means that the SUV provides you with plenty of power for merging onto the freeway or getting off the beaten path.

Efficiency Meets Engineering

What makes the 2.0-liter Hurricane powertrain unique is the high-volume Turbulent Jet Injection technology. How it works is a small amount of fuel is ignited in a specialized pre-chamber before jetting into the main combustion chamber for a faster, more complete burn. This is designed to maximize every drop of fuel, which provides better efficiency than the naturally aspirated options used in the past.
