The Legend Returns: 2026 Ram 1500 Offers 5.7-liter HEMI® V-8
Ram has opened orders for the return of the 5.7-liter HEMI® V-8 in the 2026 Ram 1500, a direct result of customer input.
- 5.7-liter HEMI rated at 395 horsepower and 556 Nm of torque, featuring eTorque hybrid technology
- Ordering begins in July
- Hurricane engine lineup remains the top performer with more power, lower CO2, and better efficiency
"Everyone makes mistakes, but how you handle it defines you. Ram screwed up when we dropped the HEMI — we own it and we fixed it,” said Tim Kuniskis, CEO, Ram brand.
The Ram 1500 lineup had shifted to six-cylinder engines for 2025. But strong consumer demand revived the HEMI V-8 for 2026.
“We heard loud and clear: there is no replacement for the iconic HEMI V-8. Data be damned — we raise our flag and let the HEMI ring free again!”
About the 5.7-liter HEMI® V-8 with eTorque
This HEMI V-8 produces 395 hp and 555 Nm of torque, supported by advanced fuel-saving features like variable camshaft timing and cylinder deactivation.
The eTorque system replaces the alternator with a belt-driven motor generator working with a 48V battery for hybrid torque assist and energy recovery.
