What Are the Powertrain Options for the 2023 Wrangler?

The list of engine and drivetrain options available for the 2023 Wrangler is nothing shy of impressive. It offers five engine options, three available 4x4 systems, and two transmission options. Standard equipment for the entry-level trims is a 3.6-liter V6 engine paired with a 6-speed manual transmission that powers Jeep’s Command-Trac part-time 4x4 system. This pumps out 285 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. Meanwhile, the otherwise optional turbocharged 2.0L inline four-cylinder engine. Mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission and Selec-Trac 4x4, the turbocharged engine fetches you 270 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. Available for the Willys, Sahara, Rubicon, and High Altitude trim levels is the 4xe plug-in hybrid system. This pairs the turbocharged two-liter engine with a pair of electric motors and a rechargeable battery pack for 375 horsepower 470 lb-ft of torque along with enhanced fuel efficiency. Exclusive to the Wrangler Rubicon 392 is a 392-cubic inch 6.4L HEMI V8 that rips out an exciting 470 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque. The V8 engine is also linked to the full-time Selec-Trac 4x4 system. Lastly, the Rubicon trim comes exclusively with Rock-Trac 4x4, offering a low-range transfer case gear ratio of 4:1 for outstanding performance while climbing over rugged terrain thanks to high amounts of torque provided at low speed.

Standard Features for the 2023 Jeep Wrangler
