CHARGING YOUR ADVENTURE
Charging your Wrangler 4xe is simple. An included Level I charging cable will fully charge the battery in 12 hours while an available and simple-to-use Level II Jeep® Branded Charger can fully charge your Wrangler 4xe battery in approximately 2 hours.
POWER THROUGH
UNCOMPROMISED CAPABILITY
The Wrangler 4xe is the Industry's First Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) with a Front and Rear Locking Differential. Its system is paired with a 2.0L I4 DOHC direct-injection Turbo PHEV engine. A 17-kWh lithium-ion battery pack, regenerative brake booster and eight-speed automatic transmission work together to send impressive amounts of power and torque to each wheel, maximizing the capability of every component. The sealed and waterproof battery pack and electronics even perform in tough conditions like fording creeks and streams up to 31.5 inches in depth.

Electric hybrid power gives you the freedom to go long distances without range anxiety. Whether you want to take an off-road adventure or simply get around town on all-electric power, the Wrangler 4xe features a manufacturer's estimated 49 MPGe rating.
OPTIMIZE EVERY RIDE
HYBRID MODE
The default mode, Hybrid, combines torque from both the 2.0L turbocharged engine and the electric motors. This combination provides maximum horsepower, instant torque and the best acceleration. Electric power is consumed first.
ELECTRIC MODE
When the battery has more than a 1% charge, it can run in Electric Mode. This allows for nearly zero tailpipe emissions up to highway speeds. The vehicle can run in this mode for up to 21 miles.

What is the Powertrain of the 2023 Jeep Wrangler 4xe?
As we mentioned above, the 2023 Jeep Wrangler features an innovative plug-in hybrid powertrain. This means that it utilizes elements of a traditional gas-powered vehicle alongside electrified components in order to power the vehicle. Specifically, the Wrangler 4xe has a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that pairs with an 8-speed automatic transmission. It also has two electric motors, powered by a lithium-ion battery pack. The battery can be recharged via the front charging port, and provides an all-electric range of up to 21 miles. The Wrangler 4xe has no shortage of power, with a rating of 375 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque. In addition to its 21-mile all-electric range, it has a total driving range of up to 375 miles. The rechargeable battery pack allows you to use less fuel, which is good for the environment, and your wallet!
How Athletic is the 2023 Jeep Wrangler 4xe?
The Jeep Wrangler is known for its amazing off-road prowess, and the Wrangler 4xe is carrying on the legacy! The Wrangler 4xe can tackle all the toughest trails, just like the gas-powered Wranglers before it. The Rubicon is the most athletic trim level out of the bunch, and it offers features like all-terrain tires, a disconnecting front sway bar, and Trac-Lok locking rear differentials. It also has a Rock-Trac 4X4 system which gives you the traction you need on rocky terrain. For the 2023 model year, there’s also a new Willys trim joining the lineup, which comes with some off-road features of its own. While the Willys isn’t quite as robust as the Rubicon, it comes with features like mud-terrain tires, and off-road shocks and suspension. The Wrangler 4xe also has the ability to ford up to 31.5 inches of water when properly equipped, and it has a maximum towing capacity of up to 3,500 pounds.
What Other Features does the Jeep Wrangler 4xe Offer?
The Jeep Wrangler 4xe has so many exciting features to enjoy, no matter which trim level you choose! The hybrid powertrain comes with three E-Selec drive modes, called Hybrid, Electric, and eSave. You can select your desired mode, which will determine how your Wrangler 4xe uses energy. Hybrid mode will use gas and battery power hand-in-hand, Electric mode uses just battery power, and eSave mode uses just gas, saving the battery power for later. When you charge your vehicle, you can achieve a full charge in just 2 hours with the available Jeep Level II cable. Like all Wrangler models, the Wrangler 4xe has a removable roof and doors for full open-air freedom, and it also offers a Uconnect 4 infotainment system with an 8.4-inch touchscreen, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone connectivity.
